My PIII will suffer to compile everything.

Upgrade problem? I really can't see a problem.

Automation means (sometimes) unusual behavior. Slackware is stable like rock.

Perfomance problem? I compile the "critical" applications (lame) with optimizations. Slackware has a great balance of learning and working.

Gentoo is great because (i suppose) you get the great feeling of "I did it my self: YEAH".

I enjoyed this feeling when I computed a tip just using my brain... (no computer).

Gentoovianites are necromancers or zombie creators - Slackers aren't. Go Slackware
