Slack post Mozilla 1.2.1 workaround

I found 2 posters on this forum who also had this problem:

With Mozilla newer than 1.2.1 on Slackware, it would freeze if you were type in any text field. (url bar, options, inputboxes...)

You were told you were nuts but you weren't, this only appears on certain hardware and I found the workaround finally..

Before typing anything so it won't freeze, goto 'Advanced' / 'Keyboard Navigation' and disable 'Find As You Type'.

The same is true for MozillaFirebird (Phoenix).. except you can't get to about :config by typing it, the easiest way is to edit prefs.js.

You can all sleep easy now.

(my apologies for the repost, this appeared under the 9.1 release thread somehow)

Have you looked on mozilla's bugzilla thing?

Have you reported it as a bug. Thanks for the work around (I use Safari myself but used to use mozilla and firebird).
