slack mouse problem

hi all

i'm slackware newbie,forgive me if my english bad

i have problem with my mouse in slackware 9.1, it wheel doesn't want work, i have tried to modifed my x86config, with add some list:
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Button" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"

after that, i run the command : xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5"

but it doesn't work, please help, Thank's

Most mice uses the imps/2 protocol.
What is your mouse brand?

Yes, a standard scroll mouse should work with these options:

Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
