Or, you can use this -- ftp://ftp.slackware.no/linux/ISO-ima...rent-ISO-build

It's also pretty easy to build the ISO yourself.
1. Download Slackware-current using wget -m <URL of the Slackware-current directory on the server>. The -m option will mirror the directory so you always have an up-to-date copy. 2. Just follow the instructions in the isolinux directory README to build the ISO 3. Then you can burn the ISO to a DVD with growisofs. The man page will show you how. Or on Windoze use the free version of DeepBurner. The advantage of doing it yourself is that after the first download wget will only download newer files, so even on a slow connection it's easy to stay current. Plus you can put as much or as little on a CD/DVD as you want. Dennisk |
Really, dennisk thats exactly what the guy on slackware.no does. Why not use the ready made iso ?

-current isos
Eric Hameleers (Alien Bob) has a very good script at
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/tool...are-current.sh I like this one because not only does it mirror the -current tree, but it will make isos for 2 CDs or one DVD. While Eric has done an excellent job on this script, I also appreciate being able to "tweak it just a little" for my own uses! Regards, Bill |
rohandhruva, Last time I used slackware.no it was pretty slow and I think the ISO is only updated once a week so you'd have to wait for the security updates to be included.
Making ISOs isn't hard even without the script TSquaredF (thanks TSquaredF!) pointed us to and I like to make custom subsets -- like a miniDVD Install without KDE. And as I said, you don't have to download the full ISO each time. Dennisk |
Is anyone else having problems burning the second cd .iso to a cd? Nero tells me it is 710 mb and that only 702mb are availiable to be used.
|
I had to overburn it. I hope it works.

Were the XAP packages not on the 1st CD? I thought they were and that just KDE and some other extra packages were on the second CD.
