I don't think the position really matters, though. I hap my "append" line at the very end of my lilo.conf file. But that's just me, and Slack 9.0. I do know that you don't have to place "insmod ide-scsi" in your rc.local file like it says to in the justlinux.com help file. I did that and it caused my machine to sometimes lock up right before getty, the very last thing! I always got the message "insmod: a module name ide-scsi already exists", and then it froze. You don't need to put the line in 'cause it's in you rc.modules file. But that's just me, being happy that I know more about Linux than I thought I did. I'll stop bugging everyone now.
