slack 8.1 install problems

Hello. I have an OLD panasonic cf-62 laptop, I would like to install Slackware 8.1 into it. The problem is, I cannot enter into the CMOS settings to change any of the BIOS to allow cdrom boot, so I call tech support and they have no answers, laptop is too old no support for it from them)the cdrom also doubles as a 5.25? inch floppy drive to show its age!...so no problem I will do a normal floppy install of Slack. I get my bare.i boot disk...no cdrom found.....so I try old_cd.i boot disk....and it even tells me last ditch effort...no dice again.
So I have been trying to use interlnk/intersrv for a couple days to just copy Slack onto my laptop I can't seem to get that working correctly either, taking a guess maybe a conflict between 16 and a 32 bit system?(just a guess)...

I guess I am just asking if anyone has any suggestions....
Floppy drive does work so is there another kernel to try or am I screwed?

sorry for being vague but I really am at a loss, I can usually trudge my way through it, but after a week of trying I am getting kinda bummed out...thanks alot for any help offered...

Do you have a network card on the laptop? If you've you can use http://slackftp.sourceforge.net/
Try booting both pcs with FreeDOS and copy the files using norton commander or fm3, or instead of parallel port, use serial (it's slower but i always had better results with it).
