Slack 7.1 and ZipSlack

hello all
i'm an absolute newbie on linux issues, so pardon me if my questions will seem dumb lol.

i got Slackware Linux 7.1 bootable disk and i'd like to give it a try. So, are there any useful programs (anti-viruses etc) for this release of Slack on the net? can anybody give me an Internet address for such a site?

As regard to ZipSlack. I have unzipped it on my Secondary Slave disk and after a couple of attempts Zip has been loaded. In the prompt DarkStar i have typed root and then it has been stuck at the 2 nd prompt of DarkStar: ~#
anything i was typing there resulted and text No such command or something like that. So i had to delete ZipSlack
Is there any web source for Linux commands?

thanks in advance

I am also quite new to the linux environment (only been at is about 3 days now) but you might check Slackware Linux Book . From here there are several sections on commands that control the filesystem (cd, ls, mkdir, etc) and also a good bit on various programs you can run. As for an actual listing of all the commands you can enter at the shell promt, I have not found one, however there may be something in the man (manual) pages, though I do not know wich ones (hopefully one of the more experienced out there can point us in the right direction )

Good Luck!
