Slack 10.0 does not find mouse/trackball

Hello All;

I've just installed my first slack since ver 2.?
Transitioning from RH 9.0...

USB 4-button logitech trackball does appear to be installed properly. And when
I attempt to start X, I get the following error message:
"Cannot open device /dev/mouse".

I have included copies of xorg.conf and numerous logfiles
at
http://www.johnsons-web.com/demo/slack/
All with .txt extensions added......
There appear to be references to problems with modules also.

TIA
tim

'ls -l /dev/mouse'

udev is probably pointing it to psaux
just use the actual device instead of the mouse symlink

Thanks. That did it.
BTW: Is there a logfile for X?
If so, where do I find it?
Regards
tim
