Bobzilla, I was actually able to continue on with the slack build you had. Was a tad difficult reading the thread through google translate ;-). I'm running this on current and 14.1 64bit at the moment. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ld-4175511356/

This helped for me on a computer with sis chipset, but I am pretty sure it disables some kind of hardware acceleration:

put a file 20-sis.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/:
Code:
Section "Device"
Identifier "SiS graphics"
Driver "sis"
Option "Accel" "False"
EndSection

got it working..... there was a file xorg.conf-vesa copied it as /etc/xorg.conf and it works..... not too concerned with resolution etc... this machine is just a file server, but some of the x tools for adding users , or things like gftp are a bit of a time saver....

let me be more accurate there was a file called /etc/X11/xorg.conf-vesa, and copying it as /etc/X11/xorg.conf is what got it working

Armin K. at LFS drafted up this patch and I added the extra lines for the sis_310.c patch as well to the file. It might help. It's based all off the git upstream patch, same as Slackware.
