Silly question about Apache

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find the answer. How do I get rid of the Apache place holder screen? It's pretty easy to do in Fedora, but I haven't been able to figure it out in Slackware. I'm setting up a local intranet and I want the page to default to my index file when they go to "localhost". I burned out at the moment and I can't figure it out. Thanks!

Replace the documents in the document root with your own or edit httpd.conf to point to the directory that contains your html docs

The 'Placeholder File' is usually /var/www/htdocs/index.html (What I did was delete ALL index.* files in the htdocs directory, and then put in my own index.html)
