Maybe we shouldn't have a Slackware version 13....

As the poet said: "Yo no creo en las brujas, pero que las hay, las hay" (I don't believe in witches, but there are witches indeed.)

What do you think?

:-)

What difference does it make? Pat can call it anything he wishes. Slackware 13.0 is just fine wth me. I'm looking forward to Slackware 13.0 and Slackware64!

Being as how 13013 is the "Mark of Dobbs," and, of course, April 13 is "St. Bill Hicks' Day" for slackers everywhere, I doubt that Pat is too worried about the number 13 as "unlucky."

sahko 06-06-2009 07:01 PM

13 is my lucky number :)

chess 06-06-2009 10:46 PM

I think it should be Slackware 13.666

I was about to suggest that too. :)

How about Slackware B, or something, so that slackware can have an incomprehensible code name like all the other OSes... I mean what if slackware had version numbers that used letters that looked like the numbers?

I
Z
E
h
S
a
L
B
P
IO
II
IZ
IE

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really are at an unholy number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Surly we must skip this and be at version Ih.

noctilucent 06-07-2009 01:59 AM

No.

everal 06-07-2009 02:29 AM

If we go from version 12 to version 17, we could have the Slack 17.01, and after that the Slack 1701-C, 1701-E what about that?

lumak 06-07-2009 02:38 AM

Wouldn't it be Slackenprise BOB-1701-C??

sycamorex 06-07-2009 02:44 AM

Let's forget about numbers. What about:
Slackware Reloaded
Slackware's Baby
Slackware Returns
The Silence of The Slackers
The Slack Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
From Pat with Love
Goldslacker (aka Slackfinger)
My X never dies

Numerical superstitions are for the weak minded followers of silly religions

samac 06-07-2009 03:12 AM

triscadecaphobes of the world unite and crush the silly triscadecaphiles. We can then have a world without the unholy, accursed number that is 12+1.

Nah only joking!

13 is good for me, but surely it will be 13.0

samac

EDIT curiously this is post 13 hmmmm! I smell a conspiracy.

sycamorex 06-07-2009 03:15 AM

If we do need to stick to numbers, I'm looking forward to Slackware 42 - It'll be the answer.

samac 06-07-2009 03:15 AM

Or Slackware 1101.0
