I have a very old Citizen printer which I am using to print text base receipt only. In windows there is an option " text only printer", but i can't find it in CUPS ( gnome) or Kde printer- controller. I have used option " raw printer ( no driver needed) " just for printing text only to the printer, but it just doesn't work. how can I setup my printer as " text only printer" ??

In Windows, if you do something like 'echo "Hello World" > lpt1:', does it print properly on the printer? And is the printer a dot-matrix printer that's traction or track-fed?
If so, then you might find that the printer isn't *actually* a Citizen. A whole lot of dot-matrix printers were actually Epson or Fujitsu, but were rebranded as other brands.
In any event, if the "hello world" echo prints properly, and you're only looking to print plain text, then this driver should work:

It's the one I used on my old dot-matrix printer. If you try to print graphics, it may or may not work, I can't guarantee it.
