Setup a 64-bit chroot environment

Hi, I try to search on the net regarding this sort of subject I don't seem to be able to find any.
I stubble upon the website of Virtualbox trying to download the latest version. On the page it says I need to setup a 64-bit chroot environment, not sure what does it mean.
Can anybody help me in this?

First of all: Do you have a 64-bit OS? Otherwise setting up a usable 64-bit chroot-environment, for whatever reason that may be necessary, would be quite impossible as you won't be able to execute it.

Then, why should it be necessary to have a chroot-environment for VirtualBox? VirtualBox is "just another virtualization-solution" and none of the others I have played with so far required something that weird.

I am also having this issue where it states i need to create a 64-bit chroot environment as well, i am running my software through a Samsung chrome book with enabled ubuntu linux. Is there a way to successfully run a 64-bit environment on a chrome book even with linux environment enabled?
