setting up a SMTP server with an "open" relay

Hello. I would like to set up an SMTP server with an "open" relay. Not totally open though.. Users have to authenticate to send mails through it.

I want to get qmail to do the task. And i am currently running Slackware 9 with the standart installation kernel.

Anybody who know how ?
