setting up a network printer

I'm trying to get a printer that is connected to a router to work with slack. When I had RH8, it was simple(ok i used the gui).
But how do I do it with slackware. BTW I had upgrade my ghostscript package from the current tree due to printer drivers.

BTW does anyone know how to do a splash screen during boot up.
Also does anyone know how to make slackware look cool. Don't get me wrong it is a great OS, but I would like to make say the wm look cool, unique,sexy, not happy sunshine bloated Redhat crap.

On that note has Linus made a kerenl module so I can use my mind to control the computer ))))))))))))

Well, without all the gooey, errrh, GUI tools there's
a bit of reading ahead mate ;)

Try this one for starters ...

I'd recommend you get cups (I found version 1.14 painless
since it comes with that special version of Ghostscript :}) and
Foomatic (which can also be found on the link above).

Once done reading and installing give's a call ;)

Maybe this is too late but...

apsfilter actually lets you install most types of printers. including smb, tcp/ip... It already comes with Slackware. Most probably it can help you too.

$ /usr/share/apsfilter/SETUP
