Serious crash, problem reboot 2.6.7 kernel reiserfs
Slackware 10.0 stock 2.6.7 kernel and stock mozilla, beta 4.2 XFCE though....
I was working on my machine, browsing the internet with Mozilla, and it crashed out.
Clicking on Mozilla icon did nothing - eg it would not restart, but ps -A showed nothing running.
Then I clicked on it again (using XFCE 4) and the panel crashed.
So I logged out and then X crashed (wierd white strips accross screen).
On rebooting it would not, with a kernel panic 2 and 29 saying that the kernel could not recover from something....?
Could not get in, so used Slackware CD 1 to boot using stock kernel and it replayed the journal on the file system and now all is well again.
But anyone have any ideas on why mozilla crashing would take the system down in such a way? Is there a linux bug that could do this? I seriously thought at one point that I was going to loose my slackware. (I used knoppix live cd to backup system... !)
Any ideas? I would rather this is not going to happen again....
