Select default system sound card

I have two soundcards on my system both recognized by alsa drivers(v1.0.11). I want to be able to select one or the other .How i can do this? My /proc/asound/cards is this:
Code:
 0 [EMU1212m ]: Audigy2 - E-mu 1212m [4001]
                      E-mu 1212m [4001] (rev.3, serial:0x40011102) at 0x9000, irq 10
 1 [nForce3 ]: NFORCE - NVidia nForce3
                      NVidia nForce3 with ALC658D at 0xfc001000, irq 11
*Actualy my EMU soundcard is the 1820m, and is seems not working, if anyone knows that a 1820m can work whith alsa on linux please tell me)

I try alsaconf, select the intel8x0 NVidia nForce3 onboard sound card, but nothing . After runing again alsamixer, the selected sound card is the EMU (as first). I see that alsaconf (probably among other things) writes the file /etc/modules.conf, so my /etc/modules.conf is :
Code:
# /etc/modules.conf (Linux 2.4 modules config file)
#
# This file is for setting module options when using a 2.4 kernel.
#
# For more information, see "man modules.conf".

# --- BEGIN: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. ---
# --- ALSACONF version 1.0.11 ---
alias char-major-116 snd
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
# --- END: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. ---
(I think this file is ok, so maybe I miss something else)
