segmentation fault


I have a router installed with slackware 8.1 as OS) the system worked fine (and is still warking in a matter of speeking) untill the owner installd a BNC on it, untill then almost all programs, including su gives an segmentation fault error...
if it were just su it was ok, but after ruuning ps it also gimes me a segmentation fault...
btw the killall gives it to

what could be the problem?
THX

PS: i've killed the BNC process (kill -9 ) and deleteb from the system

First thing I can think of right now would be a failure in some of the dynamic libraries those apps need to run. Do you have a trusted way to verify the installation wasn't tampered with? Load up Chkrootkit, followed by running your filesystem integrity checker (Aide, Samhain, Tripwire etc, etc).

I haven't found any ports outher than the ones open by me.
I heve scaned my router from my home with nmap and found nothig... No tarce of modify files... I'll try the Chkrootkit.
