SCSI emulation needed?

Hi. I've been running Mandrake and Red Hat for a couple of years now and want to move to Slackware. I'm trying to gather as much info as possible before actually installing it.
One thing I had to do in Mandrake was enable SCSI emulation to be able to do a CD to CD copy. Will I have to do the same thing in Slack and will the procedure be roughly the same?
Thanks

Really? Thanks, that's one more thing I won't have to worry over.

Oh. One more thing. Are the Slack isos bootable or do I need a boot floppy?

They're bootable, but at the risk of pointing out something you already know, you also need your BIOS to look at the CD before the floppy. Also, along those lines, I've got 2 PC's running Slack, both with the BIOS looking at the CD first, and yet one of my machines boots directly from the CD, but the other flat out won't. My point is that you may need the floppies after all. (You'll need 3, the boot disk, and the 2 root disks, install.1 and install.2) -- J.W.

Yep. already had it configured that way. Actually, I'm writing this from my Slack 9.1 install.
I've got SCSI emulation set up. Network is obviously set up. Nvidia drivers are installed and working. But.....
Mouse wheel won't work. any suggestions? Micro$oft trackball explorer.
Oh...also can't mount cdrom drives as user. only as root. can I change that?

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Buttons" "7"

The above is the relevant section from my /etc/X11/XF86Config file. Granted I have a different mouse than yours, but the general gist is the same. The ZAxisMapping option is the important one.
Adapt the above to suit your mouse.

You just need to add this line in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file in the mouse section:

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

Kewl. That worked. I changed Protocol to IMPS/2 though. That seemed to work better.
Also changed Buttons to 5. Not sure if that makes any difference, but.....

Buttons should be set to however many buttons your mouse has. For example, on mine (which is a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer), I have the three mouse buttons + mousewheel up & down + two side buttons, for a total of seven. If you have no side buttons, then you'd put 5. And yes, the protocol should be the one that fits your mouse best.
