Scanjet 5100C under Slackware !


Hello ! ... Well i have a parallel HP Scanjet 5100C scanner and i need to use it but when i start XSane it shows up a message saying that didn't found my scanner . . . Anyone can help me ? Thankz !

try to download the ppscsi

There's a driver suitable for many parallel scanners.

Download it from the net and compile the kernel, after then, run the "modprobe parport_pc", insmod ppscsi.ko, insmod epst.ko, and then, the xsane. This worked to me with the same scanner on Suse 10.
