Hello. I've tried to build nvidia-legacy340-kernel(340.104) package but had no success: nvidia.ko failed to build.

hi lopuh,

this has already been discussed a little in this forum: nvidia hasn't patched all of its legacy drivers (just 390.x) for the newer 4.4.x kernels.

assuming that nvidia won't update their drivers soon, IMHO, your best option (also security-wise) is build yourself a 4.9.x kernel (latest at the time of writing is 4.9.161), the legacy drivers should build fine against that

https://docs.slackware.com/howtos:sl...kernelbuilding

this is a config file that you can use as a .config in that version's kernel sources (when you will do a "make oldconfig" just accept the defaults)

This packaging tool (nvidia-legacy340-kernel) is not properly maintained or tested, and latest 340.x legacy is not 340.104 but 340.107
See here for 32bit and 64bit legacy drivers.
I did manually install the 340.107 module from .run file on 4.14.x and it works fine on all kernels from 4.14.80 to 4.14.104 (I don't use 4.4.x kernels, or packaging tools)

Thank you. I tried to switch the kernel to 4.9.161 and nvidia compilation was successful.
