SB Live! problems
ok so installed everything w/ no problems, however when i do a make tools to start configuring my card so i can get some freakin sound i get an error:
root@JoKeR:~/Desktop/sb# make tools
cd utils && make
make[1]: Entering directory `/root/Desktop/sb/utils'

make[2]: Entering directory `/root/Desktop/sb/utils/as10k1'

make: *** [tools] Error 2
any hints would be great

Which program / module / something are you trying to make?
Try running: alsaconf (as root) that should detect your card and load the modules for you.

ok that kinda helped, im getting sound but its an extremly annoying high pitched sound and it wont turn off
anyother suggestions?

I see, well now run alsamixer and play with the things with the M you mute stuff and with the arrows you change the volume, i don't remember which thing but it happened to me, I've a SB Live! Value
After getting it right, run (as root): alsactl store
that will save your alsamixer settings.
Oh, and if you have doubts about using alsamixer try: man alsamixer

hey that worked! thanks for the help i appreciate it...and it was the PCM level
one more thing tho....how do i get my other 2 speakers to work, just my rear left and center wont work

Mmm i really don't know what you mean by left a speaker? and center, a subwoofer?, but try seeing if you haven't unmuted something that says Center
