Question SATAII RAID(1) Mirroring

Slackware 10.1 can`t see my RAID(1) drives. When I`m disabling RAID and launching sata.i kernel, everething is Ok.. Where I can found kernel supporting sataII RAID?? (INTEL MATRIX RAID CONTROLLER 0,1,5,10 (ON BOARD))

Server config:
P4 D 3.0 (Dual Core)
1024 DDR2 KINGSTON (DUAL)
160 SATAII X 2

You will need a driver to support hardware RAID.
If the driver is not already available with the Linux distribution, check the Intel site for drivers.
Here is a link that may be helpful
http://www.intel.com/support/chipset.../cs-020663.htm

If you need to boot from the RAID controller, you either have to compile the driver into the kernel, or make a special "ram disk" initialization image file with the driver module.

The simplest method is to compile the driver into the Linux kernel.

If the driver can ONLY be loaded as a module, you will have to make a "ram disk" initialization file.
I posted a more detailed description of exactly how I got RAID to work with the Promise FastTrack 374 controller chip on my motherboard here. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=362780
