sample driver incompatibility with gcc version

Hello,
I am trying to install a SDK into my linux machine...but the GCC version used to build the kernel for that particular SDK on the target machine is different from the GCC version i am using.How to overcome this problem without any need for me to change my GCC version?

All gcc compilers can be installed at the same time ..
Example :
sudo apt-get install gcc gcc-4.3 gcc-4.2 gcc-4.1 , etc.

Which target OS ? ?
And which OS is used for the build ?

( But even if you use the right source and the right gcc,
there is no guaranties, it will work. The safe choice is to
set up an OS identical to the target, on a spare partition.)
