Samba 3.0 and Slackware 9.1

Minor issue with slack and samba 3.0.

I browse with smb:// in nautilus, and whenever i select the "workgroup", it asks me for a username & password, which i didnt think it needed to just see the workgroup, but i provide that and i get the actual computers that are shared on the network. I select one and it asks me for the username and password again. I provide it. Then i get the actual Shared directory, usually a windows C:\ drive, and it asks me for the username and password AGAIN. I provide it and it keeps asking me for the username and password over and over again. I know what the username and password is, im not getting a "bad username or bad password error", but it keeps wanting to authenticate me over and over again andi cannot get any farther than that. I can never actually get to the contents of the shared directory. Whats the deal? Does anyone have any idea whats going on?

I don't know jack about nautilus... but I do know with the smbclient command, you can use the -N flag to suppress the normal password prompt.

Maybe there's a way to configure this in Nautilus since I assume it's just a backend for the smbclient commands.
