I have slackware 10.0 box and I decided to connect it my active directory. I downloaded samba 3.0.6. When I tried to compile, it tells me that I need openldap-devel libraries.
Since, I could not find them on my slackware CD-ROms ( I Only have the first 2, could that be my problem?).
I found two files on the internet that were relatively recent:
openldap-devel-2.1.25-1.i686.rpm (I had to force it to install it), and
openldap-devel-2.2.15-2.tar.bz2, that one just had a bunch of files that i had to copy to /usr/include, /usr/lib and /usr/shared directories.

When I run the configure script for samba i still get the same thing. I am a bit puzzled by these openldap libraries. Without i can't get my samba to compile with Active directory support.

Has anyone done something like that?
