running Mouse without Xwindows

Hi There,
Can anyone help me with this problem?, I want to configure my mouse so that it will start in the linux console command line without going into Xwindows. I don't have Xwindows setup on this box. I just want to have my mouse working so I can install some online games.
Any helps would be appreciated. !!
thanks so much

install the gpm package. If it is already installed then chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm, make the script executable. Then sh /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm start.

You can use gpm to support mouse under console.
Try: chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm
/etc/rc.d/rc.gpm start
