Running dolphin (from terminal too) causes loading of samba?

Hi

I've got another stange behaviour of my Slackware. I would like to know why running dolphin from icon or from terminal) takes much time (around 5 seconds at best, and even to 11 at worst) and why when i do something like this from terminal:

Code:
firekage@darkstar:~$ time dolphin && killall dolphin
dolphin(28741) KXMLGUI::ActionList::plug: Index  37  is not within range (0 -  17
dolphin(28741) KSambaSharePrivate::testparmParamValue: We got some errors while running testparm "Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
Error loading services.
"
dolphin(28741) KSambaSharePrivate::findSmbConf: KSambaShare: Could not find smb.conf!
^C
real    0m4.517s
user    0m1.678s
sys     0m0.225s

firekage@darkstar:~$
As you can see, when i open dolphin trough terminal there are errors form samba. The funniest thing is that in /etc/rc.d/rc.samba rc.samba is grey colored - i remove +x attribute from it, and samba is not running. Also, in /etc/samba i have samba script hashed but it still whenever i run dolphin want to load itself.

Running "my computer" in Windows or file manager in Ubuntu takes around miliseconds, in KDE and Slackware it takes from 5 to even 11 seconds. Why is that?

You might want to go to the "Network" tab and see if any Samba shares are bookmarked.

Just create a blank /etc/samba/smb.conf file -- samba as a *client* often expects it to be there or it will complain.

Yes, thank you. Now it doesen't complain. But,in fact, i don't know why samba has impact on dolphin.

Still, remains one thing - why dolphin starts with this big time lag.

In Dolphin. It is set up to access network shares. And as T3Slider indicates, the smb client is independent of the server.
