Hello again all,
I am interested in a specific item. Let us say I am running Bitchx on my home system and doing it through ssh from a work system. When I log out from work, Bitchx exits. Is there a way to run the program (I assume as a background daemon) so that it will continue running when I logout from work...and be reaccessable later when I login at home?
When you're running BitchX this (built in) function will set it as a background process and you'll end up in your shell again:
Code:
/detach
To wake it up again use:
Code:
$ scr-bx
But the best thing to use is screen. Because if you're ssh'ing into your box and the connection drops for some reason, it'll all be lost. However, if you're using screen, you can safely resume whatever you were doing even if you get a connection drop
Hope this makes sense!
