ruario's latest firefox for 57

Just used ruario latestfirefox build/repackage script to build/install Firefox 57.0 (64-bit) on Slackware64-14.2
Took about 10 seconds to get used to the new GUI
Fells a lot snapper than 56.0.2
I like it.
My extensions worked right out of the box

uBlock Origin
DuckDuckGo
all except NoScript This worries me.

Take a look a uMatrix: it's very similar to NoScript.

Yipee!! Thaks for that, I'd not seen the good news. :)

Is there still no ALSA support, unless you compile it yourself?

Didier Spaier 11-15-2017 01:08 AM

The situation has not changed in that respect, according to the comments here.

I feel like this title gives me too much credit. ;)

It is really just about Firefox 57 and you happen to have used my script to obtain a package.

Good work ruario, works like a charm here.

ugly, favorite theme no longer works, only way of changing ui appearance is by manually fiddling with css files - no like!

I'm eagerly awaiting for this to be dropped into -current. I hope the hype from Mozilla is worth the wait.

Hi,

I am going to wait a while so that some of the add-on hopefully catch up. Getting old to have to continue tweaking a upgrade to work the way I want it too. It seems every time a major upgrade then things break and I need to put more work into getting things back to normal.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

I downloaded FF 57 and tried it out, i couldn't care less about the new looks of the UI.
What i did find was that the pre-compiled FF57 didn't have the flash crash on fullscreen that the FF56 in current has.
It's not on all flash clips but some sites had it.

What is wrong?

I don't know, but I just tried and it worked (I am using it to write and send this post).

Please attach the script latest-firefox.sh that you used to your next post. Maybe it's corrupt?
