RTL8191SEvB support in -current?
Hi all -
I have gotten frustrated with Debian on my System76 netbook & would like to replace this with Slack -current, but I wanted to know whether (after the Aug 25 update of the kernel-firmware package) the RTL8191SEvB wireless interface might be supported out of the box ... If not, I guess it's not too difficult to download the source from Realtek, etc., but I just thought I'd ask. Thanks and happy weekend, Glenn |
I'm reasonably certain I have the same wireless card in my Laptop (can't check right now), but I had to compile the driver from realtek in Slackware. You can easily make a proper Slackware package using src2pkg.

I have slackbuilds for that (8192se is the name of the driver, works for 8191se too):
https://github.com/cycojesus/slackbu...er/a/rtl8192se https://github.com/cycojesus/slackbu...192se-firmware otherwise the driver is included in kernels > 3.0 |
