rndc sync -clean not merging and clearing journal files

I'm running BIND 9.10.4-P6 on Slackware64 14.2. When I run `rndc sync -clean`, my journal files are not getting cleaned out and removed. They used to be either with the 14.1 Slackware or with a previous version of bind. Why are they not getting sync'd and cleaned out now? Here is the output:
Code:
> rndc -V sync -clean
create memory context
create socket manager
create task manager
create task
create logging context
setting log tag
creating log channel
enabling log channel
create parser
get key
decode base64 secret
sync
post event
using server 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1#953)
create socket
bind socket
connect
create message
render message
schedule recv
send message
parse message
create message
render message
schedule recv
send message
parse message
I should also note that timestamp on this file is 3 months old indicating to me it hasn't been used for a while. Why not?

I found the problem. `rndc sync -clean` is working. I was looking in the wrong directory. Slackware changed the location of Samba dns files from /etc/samba/private/dns with 14.1 to /var/lib/samba/private/dns with 14.2. However, config files having the former path were not updated. I had to do that manually and I guess I missed one. I was looking in the old directory and not seeing the journal files updating and removed. That's not the first time the directory changed bit me!

All is well now.
