Thanks for the heads up on new dependencies. If pat decides not to upgrade gimp for stable I guess I'll just wait till either 15.0 comes out this summer or next summer depending on when pat decides the time is right

I think most reasonable people would beg to differ.

Hey pat, it's nice to see you. I got a question for you, do you have an estimated date for the next slackware release? I'm curious.

Could we have a symlink to emacs-no-x11 just as there is one to emacs-with-x11? I ask because I use Emacs to edit emails in Mutt and it's such a pain to change Mutt's configuration everytime a new version of Emacs comes out. (Well, maybe not a pain, but it's something I could live without.)

Unless I'm mistaken, this is all it would take:

However, please also note that in today German language "Mein Führer" is highly derogatorily; for example if you call this way your CEO while talking with your colleagues, has literally a sense similar with "that SoB who will end in misery, taking a poison pill together with his blood-related mistress, but not before dooming our company"

I'll explain something to you. If you use that term to refer to someone (especially a person of German heritage), you have probably made an enemy for life.

If I ran this site, you would be banned.

If you'd like to apologize somehow, I suggest that you leave and never come back. You'll never be thanked in the ChangeLog, and I can do without your efforts to help. So far it's all been trivial or wrong anyway.

Thanks.

Well, those words coming from a Russian (?!?) self-entitled Standartenführer are quite meaningful...

Permit me to quote from the Wikipedia's page:
Quote:
Standartenführer ([ʃtanˈdaʁtn̩.fyːʀɐ], "standard leader") was a Nazi Party (NSDAP) paramilitary rank that was used in several NSDAP organizations, such as the SA, SS, NSKK and the NSFK.
As bottom line, the abuse/usage of a Waffen-SS rank (equivalent of Colonel in US Army), in this forum I guess that is clearly against the rules. Even against the USA rules, where the National-Socialism is unlawful, from what I know.

The 20,000,000 Soviet soldiers dead in the fight against Nazi Germany have called to ensure us that Standartenführer Aleksandr "Ne01eX" Sayfulin is a failure for Mother Russia.

Exclamation If after all this, you do not understand anything, then I WILL CREATE FOR ALL ON 9 MAY. BEFORE THIS DATE.

Your thoughts are too flat

0. Standartenfuhrer - man holding the flag. Man holding the flag. And I have held this flag for many years. And when Patrick was ill, and when he was well.
1. Standartenfuhrer - the title of Soviet intelligence officer Isayev (Maxim Maximovich Isaуev) ( Real name: Vsevolod Vladimirovich Vladimirov) under the pseudonym Stierlitz (Max Otto von Stierlitz) (prototype: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola...vich_Kuznetsov (one of many)). Look is here for more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stierlitz

2. A good definition of the word "Fuhrer" was given by someone a few pages above. As a "leader", only more beautiful.

Best regards, Standartenführer S and R, Aleksandr "Ne01eX" Sayfulin.

P.S. If after all this, you do not understand anything, then I WILL ARRANGE FOR ALL ON 9 MAY. BEFORE THIS DATE. >:-]

P.P.S. Adults people, but behave like small children. :-\

Man, you are either a Nazi true-believer, either you got the History completely wrong...

Long story short, in the Nazi Germany, the Standarten was a military (or militia) unit having 300-500 soldiers (or armed men), similar with a regiment.

The Standartenführer was NOT the "man holding the flag", but the dude leading this regiment and having a rank similar with a Colonel.

For example, the Waffen-SS (the guys who managed the extermination camps and things like mass executions) was composed from many Standarten (or regiments) every one lead by a Standartenführer (or Colonel).

Sure thing, any regiment, German or otherwise, has a flag, but this is another story...

Now, you are kind to stop this Nazi bullshit and to permit us to focus on Linux? You know, Slackware Linux?

Lord Vader, your efforts are admirable but if this persons behavior is offensive to LQ rules the Mods will surely step on it.

Just use 55020 link.

And besides, BDFL is p.o.'d.
