Musician Bob Dylan has also condemned the practice, saying, "You listen to these modern records, they're atrocious, they have sound all over them. There's no definition of nothing, no vocal, no nothing, just like—static."
x/xterm-341-x86_64-2.txz: Rebuilt.
Install xterm app-defaults that resemble the Linux console. Thanks to GazL.
I wasn't expecting that. Just a heads up, the settings I posted in the other thread are from my ~/.Xresources not app-defaults, so they should probably be merged into upstream's app-defaults rather than replace it completely if that's the way you wanted to go.
Also, if you're going to go with the XTerm.termName: xterm-new setting by default, you may want to add it to /etc/DIR_COLORS to enable colour-ls just like you recently did with the tmux.* entries.
As much as I agree with this sentiment, you need to beware that it is going to mean upheaval in the way you use your desktop.
You'll need to relearn how to do simple things... Even a basic task like moving a desktop icon has become completely non-intuitive and ridiculously more difficult than it needs to be.
This doesn't have anything to do with the Slackware build of FFMPEG but I had to upgrade FFMPEG to 4.1 because of this error caused by the new libfdk-aac (2.0.0) [...]
I would also love to see this FFmpeg upgrade to 4.1 for -current with the following notes:
I have also encountered the build failure with the latest libfdk-aac which is resolved in the release version 4.1. Could be patched up I guess but the new version is a simple version bump on the existing script on my system. And I believe that currently fdk-aac offers the best AAC encoding available to Linux users.
I see that now FFmpeg version 4.1 plays well with the version of Firefox shipping with -current, I remember this being an issue with older versions of Firefox...
To make my 2019 I would also love to see a line included in the FFmpeg script:
plus the appropriate '$libaom \' in the configure string. This is the new video codec that promises great things (as I guess they all have!!) and has a script on SBo. OK it is my script...
I have not tested elsewhere in the -current tree to see if all applications will play with FFmpeg 4.1
So, my vote is added for the newer FFmpeg, I would be happy to work on other applications which perhaps do not support this version...
