Request for Postgresql client and php support
 

Hey Slackers,

Not sure where I should start asking this, but slackware.com recommends this site for support, so thought I'd start here.

I am a huge postgresql supporter, and am using it for my linux/apahce/perl/php website.

(I actually prefer perl, but my boss makes be write in php :-) )

Anyway, I just slackpkg upgraded php and broke my website again. Again! I always forget that the postgresql client is not build into php.

I'd like believing postgresql is getting more popular, so I was wondering if there was a way to start packaging the libpq client as well as building php w/pg support.

Are Pat or any of the Build Crew hanging around?

Yeah I use Postgresql myself and often find myself forgetting about having to rebuild php.

I'll try once again to talk Pat into maybe including pg support.. wish me luck =)

This was one of the few if not only things I put in that wish-list thread. I use php programs that use both mysql and postgresql, and I've had one critical program (timetrex) drop mysql support altogether. Maybe it could be in /extra anyway with a php patch there as well.
