Reply to the slackware teeshirt thread

I realize that mods and others might be pissed that I am harping on a closed post...

I just want to explain why i did what i did, and then be done with it.

I am not some guy trying to undermine the "slackware cause." I just went to the Official SW site, and looked for a shirt that would fit a female. They didn't have any, so I did what any self respecting jerk would do, and I made one available. I figured that as long as I had gone to the trouble, I would allow anyone else the opportunity to get a slack tee for a female too (some nerds DO know girls). I understand why certain people would disagree with the way I did things.

Now I suppose that I could have gone thru the motions and asked the creators of the distro if they were OK with me using this or that and posting here or there, but that would be effort, which in Bob's good book--is a bad thing (when it comes to something that isn't that important to you).

You may now stop reading forever

(or delete this post... I honestly don't care, now that at least someone has read it)

Never-the-less in my unofficial capacity as LQ fashion editor, 'twas a nice wee t-shirt anyway. :)

where would I find this shirt, and why not just send slackware a demo, and see if they start carrying it?

ummm nm.... i just read the entire first half of the teeshirt dilema. You should ask the guy first. slackware is his hard work, mind you.

We close all posts like that at LQ, our aim is to help people with their linux problems, and only help people with their linux problems.
There are Slackware T's available in the Slackware Store and as yours are unauthorised we cannot alow them to be promoted on LQ no matter what your intentions were.
This thread will now be closed, if you disagree with my actions you are free to email Jeremy with your concerns.
