Hi,
I have a problem with amsn: the program keeps crashing. I don't know what causes it, but I want to remove the package and then compile it from source, maybe that will solve the problem.
But how do I remove a package? I heard of pkgtool; but when i type that into the console it says bash: pkgtool: command not found.
1) If you're going to compile software, check out checkinstall (also available from slack as a *.tgz in the /extras/ directory). It replaces the 'make install' step and creates a Slackware (or RPM or DEB) package, so it'll be easier to uninstall.
2) Update your forum profile. It shows your distro as Mandrake.
