Removing automatically loaded modules

I have a fresh slackware 9 install, and i want to know ho to keep my system from loading the nic module 8139cp (it repeatedly probes for a network device to use this module and adds about 5 seconds to bootup).

you can solve the problem by adding de module in your /etc/hotplug/blacklist
