Anybody had a problem with ReiserFS and lilo? A uk mag has a review of slack 10.1 and claims that lilo doesn't work with ReiserFS but personally I've never had a problem. Am I risking my data?

Magazine claims that lilo wont boot a reiser partion. and that there's no warning about it. I've already emailed them to tell them it does work, just wanted to check there wasn't a problem I was missing.
Mag was linux format, they've got slack 10.1 on the dvd so there will be lots of people reading the review and thinking they cant use reiser.
Is this magazine Linux Format, because I remember readin something like that a few days ago from that magazine. Anyway I have never had a problem with reiserfs and lilo, so their observations are flawed.

I would guess they tried the 2.6 kernel which does not have reiserfs support (the one provided in /extra). Then didn't make the initrd. They didn't read the directions and then blamed lilo.
Originally posted by cathectic Lilo works fine with ext2, ext2, reiserFS, reiser4 and since it gets Windows going, one must assume NTFS. Which magazine was this?
lilo has nothing to do with the file-system you use.
lilo only gives a menu ( if configurated so ) and boots the kernel you choose.
from there on, lilo has done it's job.
now the kernel has to mount the filesystem, so that has to be supported by the kernel.
( from a linux -mag. ??? might just be a typo )
