regarding upgrading to 10.1


hi,
I want to install dropline 2.10 on my machine but it doesnt install since my machine is slack 10.0 what all packages shud I upgrade so that My distribution will be 10.1 I mean I want the minimal packages to be upgraded

If you can wait just a couple of weeks Slack-10.2 will be out. If you want to upgrade Slackware, you should read Pat's UPGRADE.TXT file and follow his instructions.

Also note that Gnome is not in Slackware -current, and will not be included in new releases of Slackware. Pat recommends some third-party places to get Gnome if you choose that DE in the -current ChangeLog.txt

i tried as described by pat but finally got my gnome and kde screens with some problems
so i will sujjest u to remove gnome and kde packages before upgrade
and use the script also

i didnt remember ther was a nice pdf file, same described by pat in UPGRADE.TXT with some more options
u can search google for "upgrading slackware 10.0 10.1" and try get that

upgrade.txt is there in 10.1 cd, read tht carefully, script too..... b o luck
