redhat style icons in gnome

when i first started using linux about 6 months ago, i started out with red hat 9.0. i only stayed with it for a couple weeks, and then came to slackware. the only thing i miss about redhat is the neato icons. in gnome (i'm guessing its a gnome feature) when i would put my mouse over an icon, it would have to be within the borders of the actual picture, not just the 32x32 or whatever square that the icon was in. i thought this was kinda cool, but wasn't the same in slack. now this is admittedly a very minor *problem*, but i was wondering how i would get it like i had it in redhat. no big deal, but i would appreciate the help nonetheless.

don't have the aswer, but might point you into a direction
Applications->System Tools->Configuration Editor
kinda lets you change all the gnome settings

and check the redhat forum, ask how they made is so nice in redhat
