Newest QupZilla is 2.1.2, but fails to build

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this process of building against the latest version 2.1 or latest release 2.1.2? I've tried using the slackbuild.org build and it will build but it almost immediately crashes. I have not tried Linux24's build process, but wanted to check that it is even relevant with the 2.1 release and move to QtWebEngine.

For one last clarification. Is Qupzilla really just a frontend for chromium? Or is QtWebEngine separate from chromium and blink?

Thanks.
