Question realplayer codec problem with gxine and mozilla

Hello!
I have the following problem: Whenever I try to listen to radio online with mozilla, gxine gets started and the the following error is reported:
Error loading library: cook.so.6.0
I searched the net quite a lot, but I could not find that codec. I downloaded the essential codecs for mplayer, but there is no such file there. Can anyone tell me where I can download the codec cook.so.6.0 from?
And is it possible to tell mozilla to play the .rm and .ram files with realplayer, not with gxine? I set in the browser's preferences that files with extentions .rm must be opened with with realplay, but it goes on opening them with gxine.

I would be glad if you offer me some solution. Thank you very much in advance.

Question

I am running Slackware 10.2 with kernelversion 2.4.31 and RealPlayer10GOLD.bin. Realplayer works fine on my system. The problem is that when I try to listen to radion online from the net, the mozilla browser starts gxine instead of realplay; and gxine complains that it lacks the cook.so.6.0 codec; my efforts to find that codec in the net have so far been futile; neither was I at a success to teach mozilla to start realplayer instead of gxine when I want to listen to radio online.
try this link and tell me what happens in your system:

Thank you.
Regards,
Martin

I don't know about Real Player, but if you get the "all" codecs package from the MPlayer site here, you'll get the cook.so.6.0 file (as well as everything else, obviously).

Thank you very much indeed. I downloaded the "all" package and now I am able to listen to the radio online with xine. I just wonder where
the system knows that it must use gxine for realplaying by default?

Presumably you're using the gxine plugin (you can type "about:plugins" in the address bar to check). If you want to use Real Player instead, have a look here.

Yeah, I have installed realplayer and the symbolic links there mentioned exist. I have made a symlink to realplay in /usr/bin. I have set in Edit->preferences->helper applications in the mozilla browser that it must start realmedia .rm files with realplay, but still it starts gxine. Of course, since I now can listen to the radio online this is no actually a problem. It is mere curiosity where the browser is configured to start gxine; how the default realplaying application is set, since the above menu setting does not actually work.

Question

Besides, it seems that it is not a mozilla setting; when I use konqueror of firefox and try to listen online to radio, again gxine is started. It seems to ne a systemwide default. Can you give me a clue where this default is set and how I can modify it if I wish?
