Readline variable horizontal-scroll-mode.

Hi: how can I know the value it is set to?

Just browsing "info readline" in a terminal on a Slackware system shows a rl_variable_dumper function. Is that what you are looking for to determine the on/off state of the horizontal-scroll-mode variable?

My fault. This is slackware 14.0. In the info page for readline the rl_variable_dumper function is nowhere to be seen! Maybe yours is another version?

I found the function using "info readline".

"info -w readline" shows the file readline.info.gz is in the /usr/share/info directory. I'm running Slackware64 version 14.0 which was upgraded from a new 13.37 installation.

If I type "info readline", then search for the function by typing "/rl_variable_dumper" the search works and the function pops right up in the the Miscellaneous functions section (2.4.11).

This is probably not a Slackware topic. You may have a better response in the Programming forum.
