Re-install VI Editor

Slackware 13.1.0 64-bit

I'm not sure how I did it but the vi editor is now missing.
How do I reinstall it?

Is there a vi package? I tried to do a search but could not find it.

Thanks!

vi is actually a symbolic link to elvis.
There are two flavors of vi that are installed in
slackware: elvis and gvim.
First check that there are still present:
Code:
which elvis
This should return
Code:
/usr/bin/elvis
Code:
which vim
should return
Code:
gvim
If you get a message that says the program wasn't found
you'll need to reinstall the package
If the programs are there and vi is not present in
/usr/bin
you'll need to recreate the link
Code:
cd /usr/bin
ln -s elvis vi
or
Code:
cd /usr/bin
ln -s gvim vi
depending on your preferences

The packages must be located
slackware/xap/vim-gvim-7.2.416-i486-1.txz
and
slackware/a/elvis-2.2_0-i486-2.txz

Thanks!

# which elvis
which: no elvis in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/lib64/java/bin:/usr/lib64/qt/bin)

# which vim
/usr/bin/vim

vim works. Looks like elvis is missing.
I will go ahead and reinstall it and let you know.

Installed elvis-2.2_0-x86_64-2.txz and am now back in business using vi.

Thanks for your help again I would have never figured that out since I was focused on trying to find vi by itself!
