rc.hotplug hangs
rc.hotplug hangs for several minutes every time it is run. It's required for my mouse and network card to work. Where are the logs and how do I determine what needs blacklisted?
Thanks

The log would most likely be /var/log/messages ....
But why do you think that hotplug is required
for your mouse and network card? You can just
forcefully load the required modules from
/etc/rc.d/rc.modules (or edit /etc/modules.conf)
and get rid of hotplug ....
Cheers,
Tink

Also, what makes you think it is "hanging"? Maybe it is just taking a few seconds to run. When I think of "hanging" there is usually an error or a complete freeze.

He said: "for several minutes" which is definitely
too long ;)

You may try this out:
boot your pc without hotplug and do a lsmod. Then boot it with hotplug, find the modules that are loaded and next time modprobe them manually. THis may not work since some modules may require some options, but it's worth trying. If this works put those modules in rc.local or uncomment them in rc.modules.
