Random console freeze/black screen after logout from WM

I just installed Slackware 14.2_64 on a new Librem 15 (Intel HD Graphics 620), and I've noticed on quitting X there's a 50% that the console will not fully come back, instead it's a black screen with a cursor, and I can't even reboot with Ctrl-Alt-Del (need to hard reset). Has anyone else experienced this? I'm pretty sure it happens randomly on my ThinkPad X200 as well (also Intel graphics, also Slack 14.2_64). I'm booting into init level 3 and using startx.

Have you tried current? The components in 14.2 are getting somewhat dated by now. I know my Iris 6100 runs much better today than it did a couple of years ago.

Running -current seems to have solved it.
