Radius-based authentication, any idea on how to approach?

Hi all.

I need a way to login users on a linux box getting username and passwords from a radius server.

I need this for an internet point, where the radius server controls accounting and billing.

I'm searching but I found only pam radius auth, but PAM doens't exists on slack and it's a bit hard to add (it needs recompiling about 80% of packages)

By now I'm using a captive portal (chillispot) which works really good, but I need to completely lock the machines when no one is logged in, so it cannot be used in offline mode.

I don't need an exhaustive step by step guide, only an idea on which method to approach ..

Tnx all in advance
