Quotes


I'm running Slack 10.1, and I remember in the older verion of slackware when you booted into aterm, term, or whatever terminal you used you would get a random quote, is there anyway to turn that back on in 10.1?

well...it works here....
( that is with kde )
what do you get whet you type " $fortune "

assuming you use bash as your shell, just add "fortune -a" to your ~/.bashrc.

and for for cccc

root@unplugthebox:~# cat .bashrc && bash
fortune -a
bash: fortune: command not found
root@unplugthebox:~#


now that i know the name of the program i think i can take it from here, thanks guys, I guess it's because i chose not to install games so it didnt install it ;x

hm, actually fortune must not have been the program i was looking for, either that or i got the wrong one. This one displays bash quotes ands tuff, the other one displayed regular quotes, and quotes about computers, ect.

Did you install the UNIX console games? (Is that the Y package?) If you didn't, then you won't have fortune installed, and it won't work.
