Quake 3 slackware mouse

I've got two slackware machines, and I've tried running Quake 3 on both of them, (runs smoothly) but the mouse doesn't work at all in the game on either machine. The mice work great otherwise (one is PS2 one is USB)

Any Ideas?

I had the same issue, I also found alot of ppl have that issue.
Have you looked in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file under the mouse section?
I had to add this line

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

and change this 1

Option "Protocol" "PS/2

to

Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2
Good luck
